Covert Ops
A young woman who lives in Maylasia. If you don't read her, I highly recommend her diary.

She is literate, educated, and writes about a myriad of things. She is interested in so many things. I'm worn out by the time I've read her diary.

I can't begin to remember all the things she writes about. Birding (quite an eperience in Maylasia). People. Her family. Her friends. And especially about her volunteer work (in addition to her regular job). Every Saturday she goes to the local SPCA. Cleans cages, bathes the dogs and takes them for walks and plays with them. Cleans and disinfects the cattery. And does whatever paper work needs doing, besides collecting items to recycle, or save for their money-raising jumble sales.

She occasionally takes a great exception to something, and writes a letter to the editor of her local paper. Each letter states her position, outlines the problems, and suggests remedies. Which she also posts in her diary.

This is a crusader!

However. On the very day she was admitted to the Bar, her beloved Murphy died last week. I think he was a mixed breed, but mostly Golden Retreiver. A handsome, gentleman of a dog. With CovertOps, he lived a pampered, loved life. Died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 11 years.

The worst thing about it, was that she was at work and not with her beloved companion in his last hours. To people who don't have pets, you can't imagine what a heartbreak it is to lose a pet. I grieve with her.

Go read her. I promise her diary is well worth the time!

Shalom

Thank you, my dear friend Chaya. I am truly moved by your entry, and grateful for how strongly you feel for my loss, too. Murphy was about 40% German Shepherd, 20% retriever and 40% mongrel. He was the loveliest pooch there ever was. I have written an obituary for him. It will come out in the Sunday papers. Our feature pages allow contributions from readers, esp. inspirational or touching stories. We get a byline of almost a full page. I will post it in my diary soon, too. I really appreciate your sympathy and understanding, Chaya. Murphy would have been so happy to know that he has so many friends all over the world. When my friend from Australia stayed over at our house once, Murphy almost went wild with joy. I know Murphy would have loved to meet you so much, too. Oh, how I miss him....

Love,
E.L.
