I love Southwest Airlines
Sun Oct 25 2009

If Southwest doesn't go where I want to go, I'll reluctantly take another airline, but I prefer traveling on a carrier that departs on time and arrives on time.  Which is what Southwest does. Except. Well, I'll get  to that.

It was raining buckets! when we left Sacramento. The raindrops were bouncing and dancing on the tarmac, but the take-off was smooth as butter. Ride was a little rough until we got above the clouds, then rough again as we approached Denver.

Here's the Except. Because of a storm in Texas, the plane from Dallas was delayed two hours. That was the plane we from Sacramento were to transfer to on our way to points East. So we were delayed two hours leaving Denver. I tried to phone Bobbi, but my phone kept telling me that service was unavailable. Turned out OK, anyway, as Bobbi had the good sense to check with SWA to make sure the plane would, indeed, deliver me at the time promised, after the delay.

Other than the delay in Denver, I had no complaints about the flight. It's hard for me to find anything to complain about when I'm up in the air going from someplace to someplace. Even had pleasant seat companions. I did try to sleep, but it just wasn't happening.

I did think we'd get something more than peanuts and drinks on a four-hour flight. We were offered seconds, come to think of it.

I thought I was going to have something to say about the week in the Midwest, but I can't find my notebook that was acting as my mini-diary while I was there. Since I can't remember what I had for dinner last night, do you really expect me to remember what we did on Day One or Day Five. Or any Day?

The notebook will show up when I'm looking for something else. In the meantime, I'm going to go through the pictures on my camera's memory cards and edit, and maybe have something to show sometime in the next six months. But don't hold your breath.

I managed to leave behind a favorite scarf, and the owner's manual to the camera, so I'm going to have trust to luck that I remember how to put pix on the puter from the memory cards.

Glad you had a nice flight, despite the delays.
It's always nice to go, but there's no place like home, I always say. :o)
    Hugs, Tiggs

My grandfather always said, "It's great to go, but it's even better to be back." I think he was right. Trips are wonderful, but there's nothing quite like sinking into your own bed after having been away from it for a while. I always feel like I need a vacation after traveling to rest up from the trip.

I am glad you are home safe and sound.. And hope you are feeling well.. sounds like you got a cold/cough while in MidW.
I admire how you take vacations and visits. I used to be spontaneous.. once a long time back..
    hugs and well wishes.
