When my server was down, my mail sort of piled up. I've been here two hours trying to catch up, and still have over 60 items. I'm reading, but not leaving comments.
Rowena has been with me this weekend. Well, she's been sleeping here. I have a neighbor who has her son on weekends, and Rena and Gordon have become best buddies.
Hey, all this formatting stuff is fun!
Today is Rosh Chodesh (head of the month), but the first of Elul isn't until tomorrow. Elul, being the month before Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is a month of spiritual preparation. I thought the announcement of "events" yesterday was that the shofar would be blown today. Wrong. Since Elul doesn't start until tomorrow, the shofar will be blown tomorrow after services.
OK, so I talked Rena into going to shul with me this morning because she's never heard the shofar. And she wants to. Gordon wanted to go too. His mother had planned to go with us, but she begged off as she was feeling unwell. Anyway, since Gordon is not "of age," that is not bar mitzvah, he was able to sit on the women's side, and I was able to help him through the service. We kind of bounced around today because there were extra prayers inserted, and then back to another page.
Anyway, no Shofar. I don't know if Gordon's mother is going to work tomorrow (Labor Day), and if she is, Gordon will go back to his father this evening. So he'll miss the shofar tomorrow. But I hope I can talk Rena into trying it again.
Another family in this neighborhood who is especially fond of Rena is gone this weekend. And they probably won't be home until about the time I take Rena home tomorrow afternoon sometime.
OK, I've played around with the colors and backgrounds, and discovered a couple more interesting things, but I still haven't been able to find a quick way to find a particular diary. I've been sort of rambling here as there's not much to talk about. At least not much of any importance in my private life. I don't want to talk about the hurricane, and I don't want to talk about what's going on in Israel. I'm horrified and heartbroken over the disaster and the lives of families lost or torn apart. I'm horrified and heartbroken over what's happening in Israel: Jew against Jew.
So, without further ado, I bid you adieu.
Shalom

- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005Oh, you want to find someone else's diary?
Type in their diary name in the search box on the DD home page and click....search. - From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005Okay, here is what you do.
Log in to your own diary.
Click on "Update"
You can access any entry from here.
Just don't CHANGE anything while you are in the window!
Copy and paste the entry into an open WORD document and print.
It IS repetative and tedious.
But you WILL have hard copy.
- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005PS I just use the calendar.... myself.
Copy, paste, print. - From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005When I go to your diary index page, I see July August and September calendars.
- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005Okay, here's the simplest way I know to do it since there IS NO go to button....
Go to your first entry copy and paste it to word. Then click on NEXT entry and copy and paste THAT one, so on and so forth until you get up to the newest one.
Then from now on print them out as you post them... :-) - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 05 2005what a colorful and fun visit today

:) - From:TraumaMama (Legacy)On:Tue Sep 06 2005The new editing bar is cool, but is sure slows loading my page up if I find a mistake and need to fix it. Stupid dialup.
