Oh my aching b-ack!
Thu Nov 16 2006

Last time I had a back like this, I had physical therapy for six weeks.  Now the timing is just w-r-o-n-g!  I'm going to Tucson in five days.  I can't have this back ache.  I can hardly walk.  I can lie down. Carefully.  With a heating pad.

I wanted to take a pain pill this afternoon, but needing to drive to school to get my girls, I figured that would equate to, possibly, a DUI.  So after the girls went home I ate and took a Vicodin. About the time I was ready to go to class this evening, the sedative action hit me.  Hard.  Felt like my head was going to roll off my shoulders, and I was staggering around like drunk.  OK, so skip school tonight.

And the Vicodin just took the edge off the pain.  Didn't do a thing for the walking.

OK, good news!  Got a box from Harry & David today.  A gift from my son.  Bless him!  Harry & David are in Oregon, and they have the absolutely BEST pears you ever put teeth into.  Juicy.  Oh! my.  Not grainy like the pears you get in the stores.  A couple apples, a bag of mixed nuts, a jar of their marvelous Oregold peach jam, and a pack of chocolate-mint candies.  Did I mention that H&D are the best?

The pears aren't quiet ready to eat, but they will be in a couple days.  Oh, heavenly eats.  My mouth is watering!

I sent my darling boy a note overflowing with thank yous.

Missy was a good girl today.  Not once did she try to fly out the door.

Shalom

    What a lovely, wonderful gift!

I'm so sorry about your back, though. I hope it feels very better very soon.

    Hugs,
    Ani
