Wed Aug 10 2005 - Peter Jennings
Peter Jennings
I watched ABC's show tonight on Peter Jennings, and I'm amazed at what a tremendous job the network did of putting together a two-hour show, no commercials, so fast.

Then when I came to log on, on the Home page I saw an article about a boy who was briefly shown on tonight's show, in Bosnia, talking with Jennings. I tried to print it so I could make some quotes, but I'm going to have to rely on my memory.

The boy's original name is Eki, but he has taken a more Americanized name. A couple who had seen the original show from Bosnia decided to bring him to America. They paid all expenses, brought him and his family to America. He's a young man now, working and planning to go to college. All this from a news program by Peter Jennings in Bosnia.

I wonder how many other people were moved by what Peter Jennings thought was important. I wonder how many other lives were changed by Peter Jennings' honest reporting. He was on the scene all over the world. He was highly regarded by other reporters. I wonder how many lives he influenced.

My deepest condolences to his wife and children. A great man has passed this life. And left very deep footprints.

Shalom

What a great man Peter Jennings is, indeed. His legacy of truth and justice will live on! My deepest condolences too to his family and loved ones.

A state of emergency has been declared in Malaysia right now. We are having a problem with haze that comes from Indonesian forest fires. People and animals are falling sick and schools have to be closed. The government might announce tomorrow a public holiday if it gets any worse so people could stay indoors. I am extremely worried about the animals at the SPCA. To hell with staying indoors. I am going to the SPCA to see how my friends are.

Have a good rest of the week!

Lots of Love,
E.L.
