Four and a half hours
Tue Jan 13 2009

Four hours in the ER.  Midnight to 4:30. Got home 5:30.

Pain again. No fever. Inflammation around the incision. Not tender. Pain in the belly except when I'm lying down.  Stand up -- Oh Oh Oh!!! Walking -- Rather not. ER doctor said cellulitis. Blood tests OK. IV antibiotic, then home.

Now, it's evening, and there's not much change. I slept most of the day. I do have two prescriptions, both antibiotics, to take. So we'll see what happens.  I'm really tired of this hospital bit.  Really tired.  When I see staff and recognize them and call them by name, I think I've overdone the hospital bit.

Have an appointment on Thursday with my primary care physician. At 4:00pm! That's no time to be on the freeway. But that was the earliest appointment I could get.

I need to placate the tummy, then I'm off to bed again.

Bless

    Oh poo poo.
I was really hoping you were on the road to a complete recovery. I'm so sorry.
I bet you are tired of it. I know I would be.
May this be the end of it. Please God.
    Hugs, Tiggs

I can believe you are utterly exhausted. Cellulitis, not sure what that is exactly?
    Rest well.

Oh, dear. *sigh* They say He doesn't give us any more than we can handle. He must have a lot of confidence in you.

Oh dear. I was hoping you'd be on the mend for good! I pray this is the last of the rotten 'illness' or whatever it's called!

I feel so sad and angry and helpless being all these miles away and not being able to take away your pain :o(

Please get well soon, dear Chaya!

My coffee snobbishness and my beer snobbishness are directly related to how fat my wallet is. I can enjoy the best but I'll settle for what I can get (where a lot of people would never do that, they'd go without first). You bet I'll be grinding my own beans again one day . . . I love everything about doing that. I love going into places that sell coffees and just enjoying the smells. Heaven! But Folgers is not so bad at all especially all the different roasts they now have available.
I love the Sue Grafton books. I get them whenever I can. I love detective stories that build on the person and their life (a series in other words).
I enjoy watching detective stories on TV too. Used to be a huge Murder She Wrote fan but I'm sure I've seen every episode at least five times. I've been watching 'DaVinci's Inquest' when I can (Canadian show) and I love Monk.
How are you holding up? Getting much sleep?
Well, I'm off to call my kid. Take care.
    :-)
