I'm going to customize this site so the true date shows when I write.

I'm feeling pretty good. Have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and we'll talk about some of the bloodwork done at the hospital. I'm sure that the low hemoglobin accounts, at least partially, for my constant fatigue.

Today is cloudy, so I'd guess that we really are going to have some more rain. In August I'll be wishing for some of this cooler weather.

I'm going to a concert this afternoon with a friend. Massed choirs from various synagogues. More about that in the next blurb.

So, I guess I'd best get in the shower and get dressed. Robe and jammies aren't exactly dress of the day for a public concert.

Shalom

The cello is said to most represent the textures and tones of the human voice...perhaps that is why it is so soothing and mellowing to us.

    Sweet dreams.

    Dearest Chaya,

Good to see that you are so chipper! Yo-yo Mah? LOL! You really are a highbrow. You are a true connoiseur of music.

I am also pleased to read the news about your good health. Well done on your blood pressure and cholesterol levels! Both are things I need to be more aware of from now on, as I am no longer young.

Rena sounds like such an amazing young lady! At 13, I was idealistic but powerless, scrawny, small for my age, bookish and utterly unattractive to boys and girls alike.

Re Your Comment: I comb my hair down for work. Sure, it's short, but at least it's flattened and neat, though geeky. When I leave the office to go out with friends, I slap a palmful of gel on and muss my hair up. Like most Asians, my hair is thick and stiff and stands up easily.

Also, as for Buddhism and vegetarianism, going vegetarian is not an obligation for Buddhists, but a desirable option because of its known benefits to devotees who wish to meditate or lead a more mindful life, and because it reduces harm to living things and is less wasteful of resources. You see, there is no compulsion in Buddhism. The Buddha is a teacher and because he went vegetarian, many devotees feel we should follow suit. But there has never been any requirement that we go vegetarian on Wesak Day. It is very much a matter of personal choice. If we feel that we function and meditate better on a vegetarian diet, then it is good and proper to go meatless. However, if you feel uncomfortable going without meat, then you shouldn't go vegan because it would affect your state of mind and the way you function. Buddhism is very flexible about individual needs and circumstances.

I know you will have fun at the concert! Take care and stay healthy and safe! I love you, my friend!

    Hugs & Lots of Love,
    E.L.

Yep eating habits are very important. I often think that it is very ironic that in this day and age where we have plentiful supplies at our fingertips and all manner of seasonal produce available all of the time that we don't eat properly - do much of a good thing I wonder?

your cd's sound fab, I know my DH would approve ;-)

i'm glad you're feeling better chaya! that makes all of us relieved, i would say, as we are concerned about you and do care greatly that you are in good health

as for quizes, usually i find them silly yes, but sometimes (very seldomly!) i am in the mood for one. so don't worry about forwarding them to me as i tend to pick and choose which quizes i do and which i leave, and will generally get them from diaries here if i want to do one :)

    thanks anyway
