Fire, Part 2
Sat Oct 16 2004

The sky is considerably clearer today. The sun actually looks like the sun. But there's a smell of smoke in the air.

I should have closed all the windows and turned on the fans a couple days ago when I first noticed the murky sky. Today my chest feels heavy, and my nose is stopped up. A little bit of bleeding from the irritated mucus membranes, but nothing to worry about.

So I won't be going to the market after all. If I go out with a mask on I might be mistaken for a robber. Can't have that. So I'll make do with what's in the fridge and the cupboards.

Sabbath dinner tonight will be baked salmon, brown rice, avocado/tomato salad. Dessert: Ghirardelli chocolate?

Shalom

I'll be right over.. Ummmm.. sounds so good!

Wish I could say my supper will be as nice. Today we'll have chicken legs, potatoes and salad, and for desert cantaloupe melon..
Or.. if not that a sandwich with bacon, tomato and cheese. I know not kosher
    ??
    Enjoy Sabbath

Dinner sounds yummy. I hope things get better around there so you will start to feel better. I'm glad the fire season is over for us up here in Alaska. It was so bad this year.

    Take care of yourself.

I am so behind in the news that I didn't even realize there are fires down there. I'm sorry they are affecting your health.
Dinner DOES sound yummy! I'm brownbagging it tonight at the standby event I am working.

We've had a few fires in my area too, and every night I have to close all the doors and windows because the wind drops and the smoke surrounds us. My nose is blocked up too, and bleeding a bit, but I just put on some Vicks! We went camping for the weekend so it was nice to have some fresh air in the mountains!!! :)

If the list had been published by the Democrats I would not have had the same reaction, but like I said, having grown up during the cold war my knee jerk reaction to anything communist flavored is to oppose it no matter what.

I can't help it. I remember duck and cover drills during my early school years when we were concerned about an attack from the communists in Cuba. I remember being raised to fear communist Russia. I was raised to fear and distrust Communism, and my emotional reaction tends to overwhelm any intelligent thoughts when it comes to Communism.
