My building got washed yesterday, and my patio got put back together this morning. They didn't come until mid-afternoon, and it took them THREE hours to do the job! I think an hour was just in setting up, but why that should take more than 15 minutes, I can't figure.
Building #4 is being washed now, and surprise! they're here before 9am. The power thingy is right outside my kitchen window, so I had to shut the window while the air is still coolish. But maybe they'll get two buildings done today.
I think my winter cacti can be mostly saved. One pot looks pretty bad, but there are some stems that are still green. The other pot I think is mostly salvageable. Five years I put into those plants, and it took one day to mostly destroy them. *sigh*
When I get done here, I'm going to call Greyhound and find out schedules and fares from here to Vancouver. I'll go next week after a medical test has been done. If there's a night schedule, I think I'll do that because I can sleep on the trip. But if I do that, I can't see the scenery on the way. Well, first I have to make the call.
I told Megan I was coming, and her first thought was to go grocery shopping and stock up on veggies. I reminded her it's still a week away, and maybe we could shop together when I get there. I may not see the sun for a week, but at this point, all I can say is HOORAY! Still triples here, and I'm thinking that a little fog would be most welcome! Maybe even a bit of rain.
I was informed that KK caught his first bird. I know that cats are hunters, and birds are their prey, but I still don't like the idea. I give Banshee feathers to play with, and he probably would go hunting if I let him out. But a feather isn't a bird. If KK had brought down something as obnoxious as a scrub jay, I'd probably congratulate him, but Megan said it was a little songbird. Psycho can't be bothered with birds. He has Moe to aggravate, and she can hold her own with him. Megan said there are a few mounds of dirt that might indicate moles or gophers. Maybe KK will take them on. I'd approve of that. Just leave the songbirds alone!
I think I'll stop babbling now.

- From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Thu Jul 20 2006Sounds like you might be there in time for the Clark County Fair (http://www.clarkcofair.com/). It's a typical small town/county fair, but fun nontheless!
This would also be an interesting thing to see while there:
