Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday greetings. By phone. By e-mail. By e-card, and even a couple of store-bought cards sent through USPS snail mail.
Thank you all, for for your thoughtfulness.
Now let me tell you how I celebrated.
I had a tooth pulled. The Novocaine is beginning to wear off, and I have a tingly feeling in my cheek and jaw. My tongue is still numb. Don't think I'll be doing much chewing in the next couple days, but I have plenty of soup and soft noodles. And. . . some Haagen Dazs brown sugar ice cream waiting for me in the fridge.
How's that for assuring non-suffering?! Eh?
