Granddaughter Kimberly is back in town on business. Whenever she's here, we go out to dinner. To Paragary's. That seems to have become "our" place. Got the same waiter as we had the last time, but this time we sat between the two waterfalls instead of the back wall. Not quite so private, but certainly more scenic.
We always have the stuffed portabella mushroom, and another appetizer. Oh! that portabella. *kisses fingers in ecstasy* This evening I went all out and had a mai tai. Don't usually partake of anything alcoholic. Should have had the margarita.
I had the salmon which was very good. Kim and her assistant/sales manager had something else, and we shared tastes. As usual.
Dessert was two different warm pastries with ice cream.
Now I'm going to go to bed and let a full tummy lull me to sleep.
Shalom

- From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Thu Aug 17 2006Developing allergies later in life is more common than most people realize. Hubby never had a sniffle or sneeze from allergies until we were stationed in Japan. There, at the ripe old age of 26 he developed pollen, grass and dust allergies which followed him back to the States and have plagued him ever since.
I've had pollen, grass & tree allergies on and off for my whole life. I've had them more than not, but there has been the occasional stretch of a year or two following a move that I don't have any allergies. Then I acclimate to that area and the allergies rear their ugly heads and make me miserable.
It could be worse though, so I keep my antihistamines close at hand and don't complain!
Alli - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Thu Aug 17 2006Dear Chaya,
Only two pastries? I would not have settled for fewer than half a dozen.
Kimberly is one awesome granddaughter. So is Rowena. You are blessed to be surrounded by such loving, clever, thoughtful, kind and brave young women.
Love,
E.L.

RYC: I have a feeling sis went out with her friends Friday night and probably started to vent about me (I don't go out with them because invariably it's just a bitch session). My thoughts are that the others gave their positive opinions about me and that is why sis has had a change of heart. And, in my family, it's second nature for me to watch my back and be ready to fend of blows. *sigh* If I am hired in or not, I still view this as a transitional job and period of my life. Moving to another state or possibly just north is sounding more and more appealing to me. - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Wed Aug 23 2006RYC: I corrected the amount in my entry. It wasn't $12 or we would have just paid it to get rid of them. It was TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. They are claiming he owes $12K when he doesn't owe anything. I can't wait to smack them with the TX audit papers.
- From:AeolianSolo (Legacy)On:Thu Aug 24 2006Mmmmm.... Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I love pastry, as my oversized frame will testify!
RYC: You can visit my gallery from any page in my journal. I put a link to it in the Menu Box. :)
--Solo - From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Sun Aug 27 2006Nope, it's not the angle. The Van doesn't fit in our garage, or in the parking garage at Sea-Tac airport. With the rack on top, it is exactly 1/2 inch taller than the bars they hang from the ceiling in the parking garage that give the maximum height allowed.
This is the reason we don't park at the airport anymore with the van. If we have to pick someone up, we have them call us when they are out by the curb then we do a drive-by pick up. If we are going somewhere, we park at one of the lots outside of the airport and take a shuttle in.
One of the many reasons I'm looking forward to trading DOWN when some of the kids are out of the house!
