Update to an update
Thu Dec 29 2005

I've been doing not much more than sleeping since I got home.  I did manage to stay awake Tuesday night for NCIS, but after that blotto.

When I manage to stay awake for awhile, and realize I'm hungry, I manage to find a tidbit, but actually, I'm not all that hungry.  All I want to do is z-z-z-z-z.  I suppose it's the body's demand for healing time rather than running-around time.

I read the newspaper piecemeal.  Manage to get thru the funnies and the puzzles, then it's back to bed.  Couple hours later, I read another section of the paper then it's etc., etc., etc.

KK keeps me pretty good company, but I don't see much of Banshee.  If I fall asleep in my recliner it's six of one and half dozen of the other which cat will be snoozing on my lap.  I'm gradually catching up on my email, so there shouldn't be any more bounced mail, in case any of you have been trying to write me.  I'll leave an occasional comment, but I'm mostly reading and deleting.  Except for Allimom.  I have to go back and get an item at a time.

I'm managing to stay up awhile and IM with my sister, but she did have to call Megan and find out what was going on, as I was sleeping thru our usual IM time.  Doing better about that now.

The weather reminds me of when I first moved to Sacramento (not that I've been out in it, you understand), but it's been a warm rain, not the bone-chilling stuff raiding down from Alaska.  And lots of wind!  When I first came here from LA (in January, of course), I went walking in the rain because it was warm not wintry.

I've missed every festival since Rosh Hashanah.  But at least I'm able to light my Chanukah candles now.  Such a beautiful Festival of Lights.  "A miracle was performed there."

So, I'm on the road to recovery.  Not as fast as I would like, but on the road.  I haven't had my belly sliced open since my appendectomy a hundred years ago, and that was just a 2-finger opening, which stretched somewhat after three pregnancies, but never mind that.  Anyway, I'm getting there.  And I thank you all for your prayers and concerns.  You're a loving bunch of people.

Shalom

    Chaya!!!!! My dear friend!!!!!

You've been discharged from hospital! Oh I am so very glad, so relieved! I have been so worried about you. I've been praying for you every day.

I am so glad you are on the mend, even though you are quite woozy and lethargic and not exactly in the mood for big meals and fun and games this festive season.

I dropped by sometime ago to wish you a Happy Chanukah only to find Megan's message, which left me sleepless and worried for the rest of the night.

Well, you'll soon be healthy and active again, and able to catch up with KK and Banshee, my dear friend.

    Lots of Love,
    E.L.

While Hubby and I were deployed my Mom & Grandma took care of the twins. It turned out to only be for 4 months, but I'm willing to bet that it was the longest 4 months of my Mom & Grandma's lives!

    dear Chaya
Please have a happy new year
allow yourself the time of ZZZZ's and recovery
You had a big operation.. so yeah.. being tired is what you are supposed to be.

You wrote.."quit making Kody go to relatives who don't treat him right"
I just have to correct you on this.. I do not make him go.. in fact I really didn't want to go. She is his other grandma.. and he drags me there every year.. Usually to see his Dad.. who didn't show up this year.. (too busy being a dope fiend)
but.. anyway.. GS is working tonight ... to bring in new year.. sure he will find a few gals to kiss as the clock strikes 12.
As for me.. I will be staying home.. light my candles and enjoy the company of my stereo.. some good tunes.. a friend or two.. and at midnight I intend to salute the stars with a cool glass of water
    love and joy to you

Happy New Year! Wish I were closer to help you out a bit. I am sure the sleepiness is helping you to heal! Even if you don't feel like eating, be sure to get your vitamins. You've just been through a trauma, and it's going to take a bit to mend.

    Lots of love!

You need a triple mystery book to keep you down long enough to heal up..

I mean.. you can't be one of my kids.. but you are a worry.. hmmm.. yeah.. you better be my sis..

    Re your comment:
'Stop' and 'rest'. I beg your pardon but what do those words mean, please?

    Lots of Love,
    E.L.
