I miss my daily chats with my sister.  In case I didn't mention it, she had hip replacement surgery last week.  In phys rehab now and doing well, but still away from her computer.  She's hoping the orthopedist's exam will be favorable, and she'll come home next week.

KK got himself neutered, but I haven't noticed any change in his behavior.  Maybe he needs some more maturity.  After all, he's still the equivalent of a 2-year-old child in the No !stage.  He does know what the squirt bottle signifies, but he looks at me defiantly, then waits until I'm not paying attention and tries again.  I haven't been able to have the windows open as far as I like because he climbs the screens.  And the curtains.  Oy!

The weather has been very pleasant, and the trees are finally showing color.  Against the evergreens, it's beautiful.  I really like fall.  My seasonal allergies seem to have run themselves out.  Thank you.

That full moon is gorgeous, and Mars travelling along with it is quite a sight!  The universe is a wondrous place.  And Venus in the southwestern sky about sunset and after is quite a sight.  She looks larger than usual and extremely bright.

I took a picture (with my cellphone camera) of my blooming Thanksgiving cactus.  It has had a few blooms in the past, but it's really outdoing itself this year.  I'm going to have to get the 12-year-old  neighbor kid to show me how to send pictures to my e-mail, and then maybe I can share.

Also took a picture of my fountain and the bamboo fence against the wall.  My fairy lights burned out awhile back, and I finally replaced them.  Very pretty at night.

The walker has been a godsend!  What with my breathlessness and medication-induced muscle weakness, I hadn't been able to do much more than walk to the mailbox and stagger back to my apartment.  In fact it has more uses than just supporting me.  Yesterday I refilled the cat litter pail (30 pounds' worth of litter).  Waaaay past time to clean the box, but with this and that and the other thing, just hadn't gotten to the pet store.  Anyway, one of the people in the pet store toted the bucket out to the car.  I had her put it in the front seat because when I got home I could just slide it off the car seat onto the walker seat, and easily haul it to my patio.

KK is really weird sometimes.  He absolutely can't wait until I finish putting clean litter in the pan.  I have to pick him out of the pan (several times) while I'm trying to refill.  Then he gets in and PLAYS in the clean litter.  I have a litterbox with a top on it because he throws litter around like you wouldn't believe.  What a mess.  What a Krazy Kat.

And then there's Banshee: laid back, quiet, mannerly, and jealous.  He used to sleep on my bed at night, but if KK gets there first, Banshee finds elsewhere to sleep.  I bought a cat condo, and Banshee has managed to claim the top spot as his own, and KK is respecting that.  A miracle is what it is!!    Maybe the little boy will learn some manners after all.  Eventually.

I could go on babbling for awhile more, but I guess I won't.

Shalom

Cats are so funny! Ours like to lie in the litter after it's been changed. They've also been eating my bread lately...even when they have a bowl full of food! Gotta love 'em!

When I read "walk to mailbox and back" first image in my mind was "e-mail-box"...took a while to re-imagine to the normal one...but the sight was of somewhat surreal...:-)
Glad that everything seems to be going to the way it should...eventually :-)

So good to read an entry from you again, my dear friend. I have missed you so much.

I will send warm thoughts and positive vibes for your sister's speedy recovery.

Banshee is a darling and Krazy Kat is a delight! I would not mind cleaning the litter for you if you lived next door. We clean Chloe's immediately after she uses them because she is a fussy little princess and whines until we clear the stinkies off her toilet.

    Love to the kittycats!

    Love,
    E.L.

RYN: We get temperatures even down into the low teens, usually in January and February but always as lows, thank goodness! If that was a high temperature I think I would be moving! I don't mind the cold so much as I do the heat; at least you can put on more clothes to get warm but you can't very well get cool as easily. That being said I'm currently wearing sweatpants, a t-shirt and my heavy chenille robe which zips up the front, long sleeved and hangs to the floor. And socks AND slippers. Yep, I'm cold! It is 10:25pm here right now and it is already 30°F, still windy and expected to be colder before morning. Brrrr.
