Visitors - Part 2
Sun Jan 13 2008

Andrew and Sue came back this morning, at 0930.  As I was dressing, I was repeating, Please don't come early. Please don't come early.

I could have saved my breath, because they did.  We were supposed to get together at 1000. I had time to finish my tea, because Gryffan, Tracey and Deirdre had yet to come. They made it at the appointed  time.  Andrew is like his father: early. Always.

Anyway, we convoyed to Fresh Choice and found it closed. For another hour.  Since we were hungry, we decided to go to the Waffle House, which opens at 0500.

Andrew, Sue and I did indeed have waffles, although we each got a different topping, but Gryffan and Tracey just had to order bacon cheeseburgers.

Tracey had just begun her burger when Deirdre started fussing.  Wanted her diaper changed.  Oh-oh!!! Where's the diaper bag?!  So Tracey and Deirdre went home for the change, and to come back with the diaper bag.  We had finished eating by the time Tracey should be returning, so Gryffan phoned and told her to stay put. We were coming home.

We all gathered at their apartment, and we all admired the beautiful baby, who obligingly stayed awake for holding, petting, burping, and posing for pictures.

Gryffan decided that they were going to Lake Tahoe for some skiing, and decided it was time to leave.  I prevented their immediate leave-taking by insisting that they be introduced to Becke.  So we stopped by the apartment, and found Kevin was home, too.  Kevin and Andrew ended up strumming guitar, while Sue and I ended up in the living room with Becke.  Isn't that the way it goes? Guys with guys. Gals with gals.

It wasn't until about 1600 that they finally got on the road, as they came back to my place and visited awhile longer. I don't think they got any skiing done today.  They'll probably leave for SoCal late tomorrow afternoon. I'd like it if they'd stop by on the way home, but it's a long trip back home.

So I'm just pleased that we had yesterday and today. I get so hungry for the presence of my son.  He's loud, to the point of being downright noisy, talks loud, exudes all this energy--hyperkinetic, and I love him dearly.  And Sue is quiet spoken, calm, totally opposite of him.  I don't know how she puts up with him.  Must be love.

It was good.
