Deirdre was born by emergency c-section.  With all those somersaults in utero, she managed to wind the cord around one leg, her body, and around her head.  When the baby monitor started going crazy, the hospital staff went in high gear at warp speed.  Baby was born at 02:44 Saturday morning.

Mom and baby are doing great.

Deirdre weighed in at 7.9 pounds and 20.5 inches.  She has peaches and cream complexion, and red hair--not much of it, but it's red.  We won't know for awhile whether she'll have blue or brown eyes, or maybe hazel, but I'll let you know when she decides.

Mama has a practical, pragmatic side to her,  but her eyes give her away.  Papa is all out there--a gooey, gob-smacked charming mess.

Gryffan is staying in the hospital until Tracey is deemed fit to come home...probably Tuesday.

I'm warning y'all now.  Quit reading after this if you don't want to hear all about how beautiful, how sweet, how smart, etc. etc. etc. the child is.
