I thought I might make it to shul this morning. But after I got dressed and make-up applied, and hair brought under control, I didn't think I could make it. I think it was the application of cosmetics that wore me out.
Friend Sandra came by and brought me a plate of goodies. She said she couldn't stay long because she had things to do, mostly take care of an invalid dog. He can't support himself on his legs, so she has to carry himself outdoors to pee and poop, then give him medicine, and feed him, and clean him up. She insists that he's alert and happy, and she won't even think about the time when she must put him down. That dog is her baby, and think she's not quite rational about what she's doing to herself. Nuff of that.
Sometime around 2:00pm, a knock on the door. Rabbi comes in, followed by the president of the congregation, and two couples, one with their wonderful little boy. All kids should be so well-behaved. He's not a goody-two-shoes, either. A normal 11 year old boy, but he minds his manners.
Oh, yes. Must mention that Rabbi brought me a plate piled high with hummus. Yum!!
After they left, another member of the congregation came by. The guy's a slob, but he is so well-informed about politics and business world-wide, he ends up being an interesting person to talk with.
After all this excitement, I decided I needed a nap. Slept about 45 minutes, then got up and took out two bags of trash to the dumpster, picked up my mail, and had a nice walk. I need to get a bunch of newspapers and some cardboard over to Shalom School. A bag of shredded paper and another bag of lightweight cardboard need to go, too.
That was my busy day today. And now, I think I'll go to bed.
