Yesterday was a lovely day. Had lunch downtown with a friend I haven't seen in awhile. We went to a cafeteria style restaurant where your order is put together right before your eyes. I had a huge salad, and the greens were snapping crisp. Delicious.

The weather was perfect. We ate on the patio because it was just too nice to stay indoors. There's a railroad line runs a few blocks from the restaurant, and of course, there had to be a train go blasting by. Brought back memories that I think I wrote about while chronicaling my early married life.

Instead of taking the freeway home, I came back by the surface streets. Passed through a neighborhood called the Fabulous Forties (several blocks in the 4000 neighborhood). Gorgeous homes, landscaped yards. I drive through the streets once in awhile just to enjoy the beauty of the neighborhood.

Watched the debates last evening.

A fine day.

Today was equally nice. Took myself shopping for some skin care products. Looked in three different places for a pair of plain brown, low-heeled pump-style shoes. No go. I did find one pair I liked, but they had it only in medium width and I need narrow. *sigh*

Decided I needed a little treat, and bought a Mrs. Fields cookie. Sat and watched the other shoppers for awhile. Killing time until my haircut appointment. Even at that I was early. But nevermind, the shop is a pleasant place to spend time waiting.

My hair looks gorgeous. Maria does a fine job. I have naturally curly hair, and if it isn't cut properly it looks terrible. So, I feel real glamorous when she gets done with me.

Then I went for a brief visit with a friend who lives near Maria's shop. Haven't seen her in several weeks. Then home in expectation of chatting with Sister. However, I found a note in my email that her cat was sick and they were going to vet. I hope she gets back before I have to log off.

And sweets of sweets...when I approached my front door, there was a jar of apple butter waiting there for me. I went directly to the kitchen so I could pop off the lid and have a taste. Mmmmmmm! Thank you, friend! Wish I had been here when you dropped by. Maybe I'll see you in shul this evening and thank you personally.

Well, that concludes my entry for the day.

Shalom

I guess I am going to have to go back and read your entries prior to when I happened on your diary. I just picked up where I did.. and haven't gone back. but.. I must have missed that entry. I feel like there are many things I don't know about your life.
Your day sounds grand.. and so relaxed. I would love to feel that way. Having time to sit and wait.. My choice.. goodness.. What would that be like?
