Dru and Su have been here this weekend. Dru being my son Andrew, and Su being his wife Suzanne. We ate out every meal, and I'm stuffed. I took them to shul with me Saturday and introduced and re-introduced them all around. Friend Joan's birthday was Saturday, and she sponsored the kiddush, lavishly.

I took some pictures, and will post them eventually when Bobbi mails back some instructions on how to isolate the pictures I want to show.

I've been putting off writing about my stay with Bobbi and Ray because I wanted to post some pictures. I've tried any way I could think of to isolate the pictures I wanted to use, so I could illustrate some of the places we visited. *sigh* I'm computer literate in a limited way.

Anyway, we left Sacramento at dark 30 in pouring rain. Got to Denver without incident, then we told that there was a layover for two hours because the plane that was to take us to Indianapolis had been grounded in Dallas because of very bad weather. I tried to call Bobbi and let her know, but my cell phone kept telling me that service was not available. Well, fortunately Bobbi and Ray have quite a few working brain cells, so they called Indy and found out about the delay. Decided they'd start out on time, anyway, because you never know what's going to happen between here and there.

I almost missed getting out of Denver because I was reading and didn't hear the announcement that we were loading. I happened to look up and saw Indianapolis being displayed on one of the tunnels. Ooops! Made it just in time!

The weather turned miserable, after being in the 70s the week before. A couple days before I was to return, we went walking in the wind. My California winter coat doesn't even begin to make it as an Illinois winter coat. And it isn't even officially winter there. I got chilled and also took a double lungful of frigid wind. Next day, Bobbi had to find a clinic open someplace in the general neighborhood because I was coughing and had laryngitis. *sigh* What a way to end a vacation!! The next time we visit, they will be here! Unless they can guarantee me decent weather if I go back. (Good luck with that!)  Hmmm. Looks like () is travelling.

I have to say there are no two dearer persons on this planet than Bobbi and Ray. But as much as I love them, there is not enough money on this planet, the moon, Saturn or Venus to pay me to live where they live. The weather is thoroughly undependable, even from one hour to the next. And might I say it's even execrable?

I'm sending my memory card from the camera to Bobbi, and she's going to sort the pics and do whatever needs to be done so I can post them here. I've asked her to send me some written instructions, so I can go through my other two memory cards and maybe post pictures of other events. Thank you, my dear.

Oh, Miss Dusty honored me by sharing the bed with me and occupying my lap for a while. Comments about Maggie and Chance at a later time.

For now I'm going to go to the living room and read the Sunday papers. Did manage the comics before The Kids got here this morning. The rest of the paper awaits.

Glad you had a good time, pity about the weather!!
Perhaps you'd be happier here, but it does get rather hot and humid. Wait till we get a house with air con and you'll be right :) no Shul nearby though unfortunately.
I couldn't leave piles of folded laundry downstairs. It would start to look like a chinese laundry. We have limited seating space. Place is cluttered with baby stuff. At least its just you and your cats :)

Perhaps a different time of year next time you visit? Warmer, but not hot.
Sounds like you had a good time despite all the weather drama.
And you had a kitty share your bed!
What more could a person ask? :o)

I am sorry you fell sick on your vacation. What terrible luck! I hope you have made a full recovery now.

I love it that your kids came to stay and took you out to eat. Isn't that fun!

I hope you get really lovely photos to post on your trip to Denver. I would have loved to go, too.

    Much love,
    E.L.
