I am extremely restless at this point which usually means I'm on the road to health. I hope that's so at this point, as I'm weary to death of the the bed. I've taken two Klonopin, and still can't settle down, so as long as my energy lasts, I'll try to tell you what happened
I had three days of increasing gut pain, and nothing relieved it, so I went to "Doctor Urgent Care. I wasnt' told at the time why, but was instructed to g immediately to the ER at Mercy San Juan Hospital. This Mercy"s ER is a madhouse; seems to be about a disorganized as it could possibly be.
The young man who is my next door neighbor stayed with me even though I told him it was wasn't necessary. (It really was; it needed a kind body I could lean on.). Finally I got into the actuall treatment section of the ER, had this test and that test, CAT scan, x-rays, and probably other exams I was't aware of.
What the chest xrays show was an aneurysm in my aorta. Well, that was scary enough, but there's only only manufacturer of stents (not stints as Megan typed), and the manufacturer had to come to Sacramento to see the xrays to determine what size and some other technical stuff. Of course this was on the weekend, so who works weekend?
Well, anyway the stent was delivered on Tuesday (?) And implanted the same day. Now I'm not going to described the surgery, which usually take place from the femoral artery,. but not in my case. Oh no. I had a large incision along the groin, and another on a little higher in the belly, and the stent was pushed through the artery until it arrived at the aneurysm. I suppose there's some way of sewing it into place, but I don't know the details. That's the barest detail. You don't need to know anything more.
The OH MY GOD! worst part of the whole thing was waking up with a breathing tube! Those things hurt. Ever had the worst possible case of strep throat? Worse than than. But joy of joy, when the tube was pulled, no more sore throat.
There's more, and I'll follow up later. I'm about the imprint the keyboard on my face.
Boxes of chocolates are welcome any time.
Shalom

I hope you are on the road to full recovery.
Nasty thing you had there so it's good to get it repaired, as painful as it obviously was.
Cheers - and I do mean cheers!

Reading your entry had me clutching my chest in anxiety. What a harrowing experience! I am in tears reading of what you had to go through.
Your dear kind neighbor, what a thoughtful young man he is. G_d bless the both of you.
If I were to send you a box of chocolates, will US Customs confiscate it? I think they would. I'll have to think of something else.
Lots of Love,
E.L.
Hugs and love from the last frontier,
