New Name
Sun Mar 04 2007

Missy has a new name.  She's now Missydammit!

That cat is looking for new ways to get into trouble.  And she's teaching Banshee the error of her ways, too.  I'm so disappointed in him.

I had a large double blossom camellia in a small bowl of water.  Twice I found the camellia on the floor, and the water spread over the newspaper.

Why does she do that to me?  She has a fascination (fetish?) with flowers.  I have to threaten to kill her before she'll leave a bouquet alone.

Walking around the complex this afternoon, I noted that the camellia bushes were loaded with flowers.  So I came home, got my scissors and went back and cut a large double, ruffled blossom, white and pink shaded, a "regular" pink blossom and a white one.  They look so pretty in the blue vase.  Missy hasn't attacked them yet, but I've just now left the living room.  I expect by morning they'll be on the floor.

I bought a breadmaker.  Been wanting one for ever so long.  Finally asked myself "Why not now?"  So I went to Target.  They had one brand, two levels of performance.  I got the expensive one.

Included with the Owner's Manual are recipes.  Seventy-five bread recipes and 20 dough recipes.  Who knew there were that many varieties of bread?  Oh, wait'll I try the Bloody Mary Bread.  I can make Challah, too.  There's a pause cycle to let me take out the dough from the oven, cut in three pieces, make three long ropes and braid them, and form into a round loaf.  Then I can put it back in the bread oven and finish baking.  Never had a breadmaker that would let me do that.

Passover starts the first of April, so I'm going to have to hustle if I want to give this breadmaker a real test before then.  I'll have to put it away in a sealed box, and get rid of all my leavened food and all my leavening agents until after Passover.  Which means, I'll be eating a lot of bread between now and then if I want to give my newest toy a workout.

                                   <><>><><><><><><><><><><>

Really nice weather lately.  Fruit trees in bloom,  deciduous trees showing tender green.  Feels like Spring just around the corner.  However, this area has been known for March freeze before Spring has a chance to turn that corner.  Will it be so again, this year?

Shalom

I have a breadmaker that I haven't used in about a year or so. I used to use it all the time and loved it. Now it sits on a shelf in my pantry. I think its time to bring it out again.

LOL @ Missydammit! I think our pets are related, they have the same last name - must be cousins though as mine are dogs! LOL!!

    Have a great Monday!

Here in the south, we call relatives like that "belly button" relatives - they are related by a string via the belly button which translates to "not really but we pretend anyway". LOL!!

No, we haven't visited before but we visit alot of the same people. Perhaps we are related? LOL!!

    You have a pleasant day!

My Lili has that same last name and loves flowers, too. Especially roses, but will chew just about anything. All my green plants are on top of my entertainment center where she can't get to them. She is such a brat!! Her other name is Brat Cat.

    Have fun making bread!!

Oh, man, I read the first line of your entry and burst out laughing! What a cat.

Flowers. Blooming. Now. aahhhhhh Spring at last.

RYC: I write about lovemaking with Bruce and not RC because Bruce is more adventurous. It's wonderful that RC does make love to me, but it tends to be less exotic in nature. It can be a source of jealousy, because I know he's more creative with other women. He's just used to me. Twenty years is a long time to stay creative in that area, I guess.

Re Coffee Pot People: Yes! Animation, and sound, and music! Little short movies is what I'm seeing. Like the old stop-action cartoons of my childhood, sort of, only flatter.

It's so good to be back at DD!

    Hugs,
    Ani

Be careful with those new recepies - they say there is direct dependancy between the amount of breadmaking recepies and the dress size ;-) [JK] Enjoy new toy, new taste!
cat&flowers...mmmm...maybe sprinkle your flower with something your cat doesn't like the smell of for once? next time she might be careful...(of course there is always a possibility that she might come to like the smell she used to hate because it'll be on her favourite flowers - your Missy does make an impression of NotYourOrdinaryCat ;-) )

Someday I'm going to have my own bread machine. And you could make a million selling them because I wasn't convinced until I read this. Sounds wonderful!

    Hi, dear heart!

RYC: God bless Abe Lincoln. That quote has been stuck in my head for years.

The Goodwill I took Becky to is the headquarters for all Goodwills in this area. It's a really big store, and the only one I've ever seen with a cafe. As for art supplies, you have to remember that to me an art supply might be a lamp, or a funnel, or a candle holder! Found art. You gotta love it, just for the plentitude of possibles.

    Hugs,
    Ani

Alas, the job hunt won't start until I know I've passed all my classes and I re-vamp my resume!
