Enough Already!
Fri Jan 30 2009

I have not had a day without pain since I came home the last time. Sometimes just enough to be an annoyance, and sometimes O M G!!!  I can't stand without pain, and walking is almost impossible.

Because I can't stand, I also can't
-- clean up the kitchen
-- put together a decent meal
-- use the vacuum
-- clean the bathroom
-- go shopping (I've been without my banana fix for a few days)
-- can't sit for very long, so TV watching is in full recline
-- moan and groan while cleaning the colostomy bag
-- feel vaguely nauseated
-- toothbrushing a hurry-up job, standing just long enough to spit
-- probably won't make it to shul tomorrow

And there's also the twitching thing. Being mostly immobile, the twitches take advantage. So I'm upping the frequency of the Sinemet and Neurontin. On a happier note, though, when the twitches are under control, I can sleep. I've been doing a lot of that.

Had the CT scan this morning. Dr O'Malley should have results by Monday. Then we'll know if there's a hernia that's causing all the pain.  That brings me to Good News. Dr O'M said the colostomy could be repaired as early as next month.  Wish me mazal tov on that score.

I'm feeling really crabby and much put-upon, so I'm going to take a Vicodin and go back to bed.

Bless

    Mazal tov . . .

There has got to be something better for the pain. Has to be. Be sure to tell the doctor (call) if you have not already.

    Rest well, wake better!

    Love,
    Anne

Oh, that IS good news about the healing!

But sorry you are hurting in the meantime.

It IS wearing to be in pain all the time.

    Sigh.

Checking in on you. I've been worried about the amount of pain you were experiencing.. and that they hadn't found the cause ... even though you were seen at the clinic...(O Malley)
    Hope you feel better now..

My Dad is going in for hernia operation on the 17th.
