Well, wouldn't you know....
Thu Feb 26 2004

Yesterday I was thinking what a lovely day it was. Not cold, but a sweater would help. Big fleecy clouds in a beautiful blue sky. (Presaging the storm that blew in during the night).

I was noticing the trees were greening up. Spring-y green, pale, delicate. And the flowering trees were in beautiful full bloom. We have almonds galore here, and the white blooms are fresh and snowy looking. There is a bush here that blooms only in February, and I can't for the life of me think of its name, but it has sort of salmon colored blooms. The flowering plums are gorgeous. Messy, though, if they set fruit, which is not worth picking.

Anyway, a huge, blustery storm came in during the night. Buckets of rain. I guess all the flowers have been blown or washed off the trees by now. It usually happens about this time of year. But isn't it wonderful how Nature seems to redeem herself from the vagaries of her own vagaries??

It's a nasty day to be out, but it's a good day to be alive!

Shalom

Betcha a nickel that the salmon colored bush is a flowering quince. I betcha!

Almost blew away out here. Even lost power for about 5 minutes. Eeek!

I'm catching up with. Sorry to read about your health and diary woes!
Trees around here are getting buds on them and bulbs are up! Nothing is blooming quite yet around here, but it's coming!

so much for summer here, we're getting similar kind of weather what with flooding and people losing their homes, farms and that kind of thing. also, the weather is supposed to be deteriorating just in time for the weekend. ah well!
