Is it really August?

I can't believe this weather. Here it is the middle of August in Sacramento, and the high temperature today is supposed to be 86 degrees, with a low of 58 degrees. The rest of the week is forecasted for the mid-80s with lows in the high 50s.

We're supposed to be melting in triple digits this time of year.

Not that I'm complaining, you understand. I really don't like hot weather.

I put my flannel sheets back on my bed, and just this morning I put my electric blanket back on the bed. I've been sleeping cold, even with the flannel sheets and two blankets.

It's 12:35pm at the time I'm writing this, and the sun is just now trying to make an appearance. The overcast is still pretty thick.

I'm happy for the cooler-than-normal summer, but I wonder if the seasons are turning upside down, and October-November will be hot? Stay tuned.

    I know we have more heat ahead of us, this is just a break. I am loving the coolness.
    Re your comment on Vit E, I haven't heard of that, but I do know that Vit E is considered the fat soluable antioxidant so it can't hurt. Vit A and C are the others. They help disarm the free radials.
    Oh..yes, I knew about the crazy hours. I was warned. Normally it isn't this bad, the company is just very busy providing standby services for lots of events this time of year. I have to have something to complain about. ;)

    Yes, it has been a very mild summer in SLC also. Last year we had 3 weeks of record breaking heat without a let up. This year however not once have we hit triple digit.. Makes me wonder what kind of winder we'll have out west..(?)

    In answer to your question on my study. I am reading The Torah. Very deep!! Much to take in. I find it very beautiful but also difficult with all of mankind's violence.
    And a book .. on a feminist commentary on the Torah, In the Image of God by Judith S. Antonelli. This book is helping me in this study to see the lessons behind the violence and a women's place in it all.
    I just want to understand better as I have always felt women were not given a very fare place in organized religions, or in history in general.. So I study.. And I write, and study some more
    I did a workshop once on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life using each sefirah as a meditation during The counting of Omer. The 49 days were indeed, very deep lessons for me. Yet, I learned so much about myself and my inner workings and issues .. I guess you would call them issues. So I want more..

    yep it is cool here too. Today was chilly, I needed a cardigan or jacket when I went out. here comes Autumn and winter!
