Mon Dec 20 2004

The day started out as a usual Sunday day. I did have a pretty good night's sleep and was more or less ready to get out of bed when I woke up.

Did the usual morning ablutions. Then morning prayers. While the tea was brewing I got the paper, and began with the comics. As usual. Seems to me that's the proper way to start the day--with a little humor.

After awhile I realized I was hungry and had a toasted bagel. By that time, I'd gotten to the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle. It was a tough one this time. Some puns, and it takes a little while for me to catch on. Anyway...

Got a phone call from a friend whom I see way too seldom. We eventually met at Fresh Choice (a favorite place of mine). We had our salads and a long, long chat about several things and people. She'll be leaving on Friday for England to spend three weeks with her son and his family. She has the neatest keychain. It's plastic (or resin) with pictures of her grandbabies inside the clear holder.

She also has a mother who is living with mild dementia, and that's hard. Mom thinks she's still in Southern California, and has some other memory deficits. At least she's in a good care facility, and M doesn't have to do 24-hour care.

It was a good afternoon.

Cold and foggy all day, with a brief appearance of the sun. Very brief.

Now I'm back home, snug in my messy apartment. I did finish the crossword puzzle without one single peek! I pat me on my back.

So now it's time to go check in with 60 Minutes.

Shalom

I bet your "messy apartment" is spotless. My house on the otherhand looks like someone lobbed a grenade in and ran. YUCCH. Have a great week.

    Hiya,
I've got your message left on my answering machine yesterday ;-) thanks.
I always read newspapers and magazines starting from the last page...last page is normally when I'd finish reading them too :-)
    Have a nice day!
