Today and tomorrow temperatures are predicted to be 87 degrees. The rest of the week in the lower 80s. As Cali observed in her entry, we went from winter to 15 minutes of spring to summer.
I enjoy living in an area where the four seasons are clearly delineated. But this past year has had us immersed, even drowning, in winter. As of today's news, we are 6.21 inches of precipitation above normal to date. That doesn't seem like a lot of rain compared to some parts of the world, but when you consider the snow melt from the mountains, the already-full reservoirs, and the rivers close to flood, we have reason to be concerned.
Besides that, there were too many gloomy, soggy days.
I suppose I should consider the fact that I wasn't in the best of health this past season, maybe my general attitude toward gloom and sog may have been influenced. And then my daughter drops the bomb that she is moving to an area where gloom and sog are normal.
In a couple months I'll be complaining about the heat. Please don't remind me about my winter complaints.
The apartment swimming pool is being repaired. I enjoy swimming, but the water has to be fairly warm before my arthritic joints can enjoy the pool. Which means July, probably, before I start swimming. The pool isn't heated, so it takes awhile for those umpty-up gallons of water to be sufficiently warmed by the sun. There are some nice shaded place around the pool, so it's a nice social gathering place.

Still coughing, but taking a new lease on life.
The cats are enjoying the open windows and patio slider. Maybe it's time to clean off the kitty nose-prints from the windows. Since my living room faces west, I close the blinds late afternoon, so the cats find their favorite sleeping places until evening, when the windows and blinds are opened again.
I could babble on about nothing, but I guess I won't.
Shalom

In the transitional period between Leaden Skies and Blazing Sun there are gorgeous blossoms, green fields as far as the eye can see and the most beautiful crystal blue skies on earth. In the transitional period between Blazing Sun and Leaden Skies we have the end of harvest, lovely red and gold leaves, and that awesome crystal blue sky makes another round. Unfortunately, the transitional periods can neither be counted on to arrive at any certain point on the calendar, nor can the duration of the transitional seasons be predicted.
In drought years, there is almost no Leaden Skies season. But The How-Is-The-North-Valley-Closer-To-The-Blazing-Sun-Than-Anywhere-Else-On-Earth? Season always, ALWAYS comes and stays. And stays. And STAYS. The only real saving graces are the tomatoes, peaches, plums, corn and melons. Without the produce The Blazing Sun Season would be a total loss for me.

P.S. I agree, it has been far too long since I've been to see you! I'll have to do something about that in the next couple of weeks.
Do you have Word on your computer, and if so which version?
Alli
I promise not to remind you of your complaints about the winter :)
Hugs & Love
I have a friend nearby with a swimming pool.. GS is angry still that we didn't move to a different complex.. one with a pool.... It would have been a wiser move.. really.. in hindsight.. But..
anyway.. Hope that cough lets up.... soon!!!!
How is Megan??
and her move??
and your niece??
Hugs
Mostly up in the canyon properties so far.. but also north of here.. Lots of worries also for down south.. I remember last year.. the floods took an entire neighborhood down.. homes.. garages.. decks... cars, trucks.. the works.. even a few lives were lost..
It is no joke. .. that spring melt is deadly!@
I'm looking forward to see what you found that needs correcting in the paper. I've read it so many times that I don't even seem to see it any more!

I'd much rather have you complain about the heat than have Arthur Itis visit you as often as he does in the winter.
Oh, leave those kitty nose prints be... never hurt anyone.
Love to the kitties!
I hope it gets warm enough for you to swim soon.
Love,
E.L.
