Greetings
Thu Jan 01 2004

It's still 2003 here in the Northern/Western hemisphere, but I want to wish all my friends the best of 2004.

My plans are to stay home. Too many drunk crazies on the road at this time of year. However, I think there'll be midnight fireworks at Cal Expo, and I can watch them here from my driveway. If it isn't raining. Otherwise, I'll be watching the New Year celebrations on TV.

There's a feature in my newspaper that I enjoy, in addition to the comics and the crossword puzzle. It's called Cryptoquote, and instead of writing my own greeting, I'm going to give you all the "pleasure" of figuring out today's cryptoquote. Have fun!

Shalom, and QLAAN UYG NYLX !

OK, maybe I should have given a more appropriate hint. The greeting is appropriate to this time of year. Another hint: Y stands for E.

I never was very good at those things.
There goes my chance at being a cryptographer!

Did you figure out the copy and paste?

    Happy New Year!
    Y.

Happy New Year to you Chaya. Here it was raining and Duke and I were asleep by 10:30 here but we did watch the ball fall in NY. I got your cryptogram but it took me a while. For some reason I hard a hard time getting the "B".
