Aw, Shoot!
Wed Dec 31 2003

I'm supposed to be able to write my diary in Word and transport it to deardiary. Yetzirah was here for about four hours tweaking my puter to do this, and making a new appearance to the diary. It worked just fine while she was here. It was such a pretty diary, too. Check yesterday's diary to see how it's *supposed* to look.

What did I do wrong? I've tried three times following her directions, and I still can't transport the diary from Word to DD. So I'm typing this from a printed copy of the original (with a few changes considering the program didn't work).

I also now have Snood on my computer, so if my sister will ever send me her disk with Scorpion on it, I may never get off this 'puter. I'm getting a little tired of just plain solitaire. Yetz also showed me how to play another game I already have programed, but I didn't know how to play it. It's called Free Choice, and it's tough game. Gotta *really* pay attention to where you put the cards.

Today was a rather busy day. As I said, Yetzirah was here about 4 hours tweaking my computer. Then I got a message from my doctor's office that my HMO had approved a medication he wants me to take that's not on their formulary. And, to pick up some samples until the mail-in pharmacy can get the new meds to me. I'll have to phone tomorrow and find out how much money I have to send with the new script. I'm wincing in anticipation.

Since my daughter works sort of in the neighborhood of the doctor's office, I stopped by and chatted with her awhile. Also got my first dozen of FREE bagels. I did mention, didn't I, that she gave me a year's supply of a dozen bagels a month? I ate a pumpernickel on the way home. Also gave her one of the bagels as a sort of thank you.

While chatting with daughter, I happened to look at my watch and realized that I was going to be late getting home to chat with my sister on line. However, as it happened, she was late, too. So it worked out after all, and I needn't have broken a few speed laws.

The day was mostly cloudy, but the temperature was nice. Lightweight jacket weather, and thankfully, no wind--just a light breeze. I almost got swept off my feet yesterday. According to the weatherman, rain is returning. Im going to get tired of all that wet petty soon.

Well, I guess that's it for today. I'll call Yetzirah tomorrow and see if I can find out what's wrong.

Shalom

Aha! the new diary format does show. Just not when I'm typing the entry. Isn't it pretty?

Wow, Chaya!!! Your DD looks gorgeous!
Well done to you and Yetz' for the *tweaking* (I love that word -- we don't use it here but I noticed it in "You've Got Mail", one of my favourite movies)
It's 7 pm here in Sydney, so I'll have to settle into my armchair with snacks, my pets and remote control *smile* - I'm going to enjoy my night!
    Shalom...

I don't know anything about transporting a diary from word to DD. I just use notepad to write my diary, highlight it when I am done, copy, and then paste it in the DD entry page. I used to really like to play a game called Free Space...don't know if it is the same one you talked about. I haven't had time lately to play it but I am looking forward to a few hours soon, doing just that. Enjoy your bagels and have a happy New Year's Eve Chaya....I love pumpernickel.

    Dear Chaya,
I've just caught up reading your entries over the past week. I had a lovely surprise to see your pretty new graphics, they do look nice. Well done to Yetzirah for her help! *smile* I like the sound of those new coffee mugs too, and hope you were able to enjoy your gift coffee. I'm glad you were able to see your young friend and her baby. I love to see my friend J's girls and their babies too, having watched them grow up.
Take care, and may 2004 bring you an abundace of blessings,
    Love and (((hugs))) Kelpie.
