Gardening (if that's what you call it)
Mon Feb 24 2003

I went out to my daughter's house today to do some gardening, but it was mostly weeding. Mostly pulling up dandelions. Two of them I left in the ground. They were blooming so beautifully, I couldn't bear to end their lives at that point. One blossom was 2-1/2 inches across. Truth! I measured.

Another dandy was so big I had to dig it out with a shovel. It wasn't blooming, so I didn't have any compunction.

Give Ma Nature and inch and she takes the whole darned yard! I'm going to have to go out every day to pull weeds and find the "real" plants. You know, the flowers that were planted purposely. Oh, I have to play chauffeur one day this week, so maybe I can make it three days. Doubt I'll make much headway--even with the help of the rabbit. Zeus enjoys munching on greenery.

It was a perfect day for such labor. Sunny, cool breeze. Even with the cool breeze, I managed to sweat a little.

Got home and found a message on my phone from my daughter from her workplace. She was inviting me to join her at Baskin-Robbins. They're kosher now. B-R must have discovered that Jews, too, like ice cream.

I worked up an appetite with all my labors today. Wonder what's in the fridge?

Shalom.

Happy Gardening! *smile* I can't wait till it's warm in my part of the world and I can begin the fight with the weeds and get my hands a little dirty. Take care!
