I called last evening to see if granddaughter would like to come for a swim today, but she is spending the weekend with her father.

So I asked my grandson if he and his girlfriend (eventual wife, I hope) would like to swim. Sure. They showed up about noon (me still reading the papers and in my jammies), and said they came to take me to lunch.

Such timing. I had just started on a bagel.

I've never turned down an invitation to a meal, and I don't intend to start any time soon. So we went to my favorite place Fresh Choice. Salads galore! I do love salads, by they take so much time to put together. And lettuce spoils before I can use it all. So I keep tomatoes, zucchini and cottage cheese on hand. A little garlic powder and Lawry's seasoned salt add zest.

But I digress. We spent a couple hours at the restaurant, thoroughly enjoying each others' company. I really like G's girlfriend. I hope they get situated financially so they can move into their own place soon. They are presently sharing the house with my daughter and granddaughter. And a bunch of cats.

I think summer is about to hit us with a triple digit whammy. I noted that when I was in SoCal, I managed to miss a couple hot-hot days up here. Not so lucky this time. I'll melt or endure, so I think I'll choose endure--whatever that entails.

Friend ML has started to move into the apartment across the way from me. It will be nice having her nearby. Maybe having her nearby, I can pressure her into being on time. She is most undependable about time. However, she's a nice lady, and I won't hold that against her. Just keep nagging until she finally arranges her time a bit more efficiently. Aaahh! who do I think I'm kidding. She'll be late, and I'll fume, and we'll still go wherever it is we're planning to go.

Ah well, I think I'll go back and finish reading the Sunday paper. Still haven't looked at Forum. Although, I did read the funnies.

Shalom

The ripe ones are needed too! My favorite way to make blackberry pie is to have about 1/3 of the berries underripe to give it the tartness, but the rest ripe so I don't have to add as much sugar!

    OK, now I'm hungry...

Now you did it !! Time warp, where that was a lazy Sunday with little care and the stress of the world was enjoying the day at hand.
We are so busy in these times tis a rare day we take
time to relax and listen to the birds ,smell the flowers and soak in the wonders the All mighty
laid upon us if we just took the time to be thankfull.

What a lovely day! Although I too would prefer to miss the triple digits. Here, it gets very humid.

I love salads too. Lucky for me, we have the chicks who love it when the lettuce gets brown so they can indulge on it as a treat. I don't feel so wasteful that way, although I just buy the little bags of already cut up lettuce and add cherry tomatoes, cucumbers if I have them and sunflower seeds. Yummy! My dad introduced me to serving cottage cheese with French or Catalina dressing on it (looks strange but tastes great!).

A day poolside sounds heavenly to me.

So glad you have a friend moving in close by! How nice - I am definitely envious. *smile*

    Love,
    Anne
