At least for awhile. I think.

I went to Megan's and got logged on at her place, but couldn't bring up any of the messages. Or maybe if I'd waited a half hour for each entry...

Anyway, I came home and turned of the power source, and let everything sit for awhile. When I came back, and turned on the power bar, then the computer, I was actually able to log on and, so far, have been able to read some messages. But it takes forever for each item to come up.

I've come to the conclusion that the problem lies with the CPU, not my ISP. What to do next is something I need to figure out.

The weather has been gorgeous, but the weatherman says we're going to have a day of rain later in the week. OK, one day a week I can handle.

I potted some marigolds the other day. They smell terrible, but they're so cheerful looking. The palm tree seems to be holding it's own, and the jade plant cuttings are doing well. My spider plants need some tlc, and maybe some plant food, and the asparagus fern is freshening up. It always dies back a bit in the winter and looks a little pathetic. I have no place inside to bring tender plants, and I'm always grateful to them when they survive the winter on the patio.

I have two plants that are called cactus, but they don't really look like cactus. One is supposed to bloom at Thanksgiving and the other is supposed to bloom at Christmas. Well, they've bloomed, but not when I can identify them as Thanksgiving or Christmas. I had the pots marked when they were mere cuttings, but since they've been repotted, I don't remember which is supposed to be which, and until they oblige me by blooming at the correct time, I'll just have to call them my healthy, green potted plants.

I need to get busy and start cleaning my kitchen and pantry for Passover. Not a job I'm looking forward to, but it has to be done. And I'd better get on my taxes too. Haven't figured out yet how I can avoid paying again this year, so I keep putting off the job, and if I don't get with it, I'll be paying penalties on top of that.

Procrastination thy name is....Me.

Shalom

You know with XP you can do a system restore..
You go to Control Panel.. click onto system restore.. set it for a date when things were running smooth.. like a couple months ago.. You won't loose any files by doing this.. Click okay and it will tell you it will do the restore and shut off then reboot.
You may want to try it..
Also in control panel... see what you have your Internet connections set for.. You may want to customize that. I have had to and makes my puter run much faster now.. I don't have it on microsoft only. or default..
    JUSt some ideas
    Happy new year

I hope you'll be back and online properly this time, Chaya.

I wish I could help you with the gardening. I didn't know that marigolds smell bad. They grow wild here.

Just one day of rain a week? We in Kuala Lumpur would count ourselves lucky if we could have one day in 7 without rain!

I've just submitted my tax forms last month. I wish we were neighbors so I could come over and help you around the house. I love helping. It's a hobby of mine.

    Love,
    E.L.

Hi glad to see you back online.

I have been trying to clean my kitchen and cupboards - isn't it the most horrible job? I just keep putting it off and putting it off, I did clean the oven though in bursts of 15mins a la Flylady with the timer. It was amazing how much better it looked and how good I felt to know it was clean. I need to start this on the rest now!

What I remember most from Southern California are the Bougainvilla - beautiful! The poppies sound gorgeous too.

Since my whole diary is friends only, you don't have to make the comments private - only if they are for my eyes only.

I love wildflowers, but any kind of flowers to me are wonderful.

    Have a great day!
