I decided that Peach should have a companion, so I bought another molly today. As it turns out, the one fish that was the prettiest, and the right size, is a male. The fish maven at the pet store showed me how to determine the sex of a molly. Now, I haven't taken Peach from the aquarium to check her, and from the outside I can't get a good look, so I'm trusting that Megan has correctly named her a female.
If that's right, then I may become a fish mama.
The last time I had fish, it started with a guppy that Megan brought home.
Please, Mom, can I keep it? I promise I'll feed the fish and keep the bowl clean. Please, Mom, huh, can I keep it?
Oh, well, how much trouble can one fish be?
You know what happened? I ended up with fish plural. Three tanks! Five gallon, 10 gallon, 20 gallon. You know who cleaned the tanks, huh? You know who fed the fish, huh? Huh?
And the same person has started me down that road again. But I swear to you, there will be a one-gallon tank with two fish in it. And that's IT!
OK, what to name the newcomer? I thought Ed F(ish) Molly would do, then decided that a more appropriate name would be Cream. Peach and Cream. Yeah.
*sigh*

- From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Thu May 04 2006What about naming him Schnapps? Then you would always have Peach Schnapps in your house!
Alli - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Thu May 04 2006Dear Chaya,
Happy Spring Equinox! Thank you for the cheque, which I received last week. I will let you know what the animal rescue team intends to do with the money. We need to discuss it and prioritize. Thank you so much for your kind and generous contribution. Your thoughtfulness touched us all.
Congratulations on being a Fish Mama! I was a Fish Foster Mama over the weekend. I fed fish at the jetty and at the fishpond. It was fun!
I think Megan would make a very good friend for me. But I was the kind of child who cleaned up after all her pets before sitting down to do her homework, so I don't think my parents have much to complain about.
Our spoons and forks don't disappear around here, but our socks do.
Have a good week!
Love,
E.L.
- From:ImNotLisa (Legacy)On:Thu May 04 2006What is it about fish. I always wish we had a small aquarium too, but don't have the first clue where to put one and so have managed to avoid it thus far. One of these days though, I'll bet I will.
- From:Sweetsummerbreeze (Legacy)On:Tue May 09 2006I wish things would warm up around here. We actually got snow today. Can you believe it? Snow in May. It's not suppose to snow in May. I hope all is well with you. I noticed you weren't on my notify list anymore so I wanted to make sure things were ok.
BTW, I'm behind on my diary reading so I ended up just deleting everything in my inbox. No excuse just lazy.
Take care,
Cyndi - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Tue May 09 2006congrats on your new addition!
