What a change!
Wed Feb 23 2005

After yesterday's havoc, today was a gem. Morning was bright with a few high wispy clouds, and a breeze. Weather reporter tonight said temps were in high 60s later today after lows in the 40s. Clouds started gathering again in the afternoon, and I expected a storm tonight. However, when I stepped out tonight, the sky was clear with some of the wispy clouds of this morning. Yes, Virginia, you can see clouds at night.

Megan called and asked if I was coming to see her today. Seems we had agreed that I would come out to her place of business either today or tomorrow. Since tomorrow's tentative date was confirmed early today, I decided today would be Megan's day.

We make a habit of stopping in Raley's and having coffee or lunch, but since I'd had a late breakfast, I had coffee, actually cafe mocha (yum!) and she had lunch. For those of you who don't live here, Raley's is a supermarket chain, and this particular store has a very nice deli/lunch/coffee shop. While we were there, Megan's "Sweetie," as she calls him, happened to come into the store, and I met him for the first time. Nice man. I can see why she enjoys his company.

She asked me to bring my sketchbook because she wanted me to draw a picture of what I consider male beauty. My first thought was Dr Valadkhani, the Stroke Trauma physician. I have a very clear picture of him in my mind, but I couldn't seem to get a satisfactory representation on paper. Close, but not quite. (Our family expression is "all quite but not most.") She described a face to me, and I was able to get it on paper.

Somehow, Megan and Gryffan can describe a character, and my fingers and pen/pencil seem to know what's in their minds. I don't know if I could do it with someone I'm not close with. But it's interesting to see how their thoughts appear on paper.

Oh, I just have to get that organ sold so I can have a table where I can set up an easel or just a drawing pad. I have so many pictures in my head, but no place to set up easel, paints, and whatever else I want to use. It's frustrating!

Actually what I'd love to have is an extra room.

Ah well....

Shalom
