It had to be done

 And I'm not done yet.

Moving slowly this morning.

Four loads of laundry yesterday, one more this morning, and one more to go.

Hauled out the vacuum, out of dire necessity.  That's what did me in.  That's why I'm moving slowly today.  You should hear the creak of joints when I stand up.  Be glad you don't feel them.

I found the missing culotte/slip that took a trip at least a week ago.  Where it was, we won't go into, and how I overlooked it is a puzzle, too.  But anyway...I was hand washing the other culotte/slip just to have something clean against my skin.

That idiot cat just went head-first into a plastic bag.  Be back in a jiffy..................

Paper bags and boxes are fine, but I draw the line at suffocation.  Oh, and I just discovered she can leap from my bed to the top of my highboy dresser.  So the squirt bottle is sitting up there now.  I hope it's a deterrent.  Has been effective in the past, but I never know about Missy.  She's very clever, but she lacks good sense.  Is it because she's "only" nine months old?

But back to the household duties.

It rained yesterday, but I was able to get the washer loads to the dryer between spates.  I have an apartment size washer, but still have to schlepp to the laundry room to the dryer.  I do dearly wish there was a way to hook up a dryer in this apartment. Two problems, though.  1. Where.  2.  How to exhaust the hot air.

1.  Space is at a premium here.  Small bathroom.  No place in the kitchen for water hookup, that wouldn't interfere with access to the sink; and if space could be made, the electrical outlets would be on the other side of the room.
2.  Owner takes a dim view of cutting holes in the walls.

One more load of laundry to do, and I'd better hop to.  Then there's the vacuuming to finish.

*sigh*  I hope I can walk tomorrow.

Shalom

A Washer and NO dryer!! now that is cruel. I have read that using a Vacuum is one of the hardest chores of house duty. I run Ms Daisy for
heart doctor said it was not a good thing for her. The CNN weather said S.F. Sac. and northern
CA was 40% below normal for rainfall and could face a very sorry shortage. I hope you get some snow up high and more rain soon.

I used to live in a rental that had a place for a washer and dryer, but I didn't have one. I HATED going to town to do my laundry. YUK-O!! I hate to vacuum, too.

Hope you don't get too sore.
    Hugs, Tiggs

All apartments should have washers and dryers.

    Period.

We'll fix that when you and I run the world okay?

Ya know, they *do* make little washer/dryer units that stack? I've seen them before. It makes for small loads, but you're just one person, after all. It might be worth seeing if you can find one. The dryers on those are almost always electric, I think. It's also possible to stack a full-size dryer on top of a front-loading washer. Front loaders use half as much detergent, too.

I have also noticed that youth + felines = a decided lack of good sense. Fear and resillience are the only things that keep them alive.

Just take it easy, there is no washing load in a world worthy of a pain afterwards ;-)
as for the kitty...well...as I'm not a pet owner, my suggestion might be cruel, but what a fun: why don't you attach a pair of wings to her back - next time she leaps to the dresser, she'll be up for a big surprise - a flying kitten, eh? ;-)

I have seen stack up washer and dryers in small apts. And you can get these indoor exhaust deals.
(*Containers you put water in and the hose fixes to that). Or vent it out the window.
    I wouldn't rent a place without washer/dryer hookups.

You got the Edith Ann/Lily Tomlin connection! I knew it wouldn't mean anything to a lot of people, but in our age group...yes!

I'm sorry about your aching bones. Have you tried the gin-soaked golden raisins bit? It helps the joints in my hands, maybe it will help your back?

    Hugs,
    Ani

    Dear Chaya
Bless your heart! I was also very worried about uncle Joe's bed sores.. It was his lungs and the oxygen wasn't getting to his extremities. and he almost died! He couldn't move at all.. couldn't roll over and I guess the hospital had to keep him on his back as well..
but the good news is that he is now doing much better.. In fact he can sit up now.. and can go potty assisted now too.. so he is coming back!!
Most all the family was ready to fly down to Texas ... we all really thought he was done.. I'm so glad he is getting stronger now..
He isn't old.. only 72.. so he still has some living to do. *(but he was a long time smoker and used to drink.. ~ though it has been years since he's done either)
Anyway thanx for your concern.. I appreciate it and the advise.. I did pass it on..

RYC - Back in October the cows were put in the field the day I bought my house. I think you've seen pictures of puppy Leena playing with them through the fence.

I would love to meet you in person. We will have to arrange that!

What about getting a laundry rack and air drying them? Or see if there is a way to rig up a laundry line in one of your rooms? (I'm partial to hanging wet clothes on hangers from door jams myself, helps put some humidity back into the air in the house).
