Today was a Very Good Day.  I got dressed as I would if I were going to shul, and it felt good.  I opened the window for a few minutes and just about got frost bite on my nose.  But the air smelled SO good. I felt full of energy.

After having a cup of tea and reading the comics, I opened my Siddur (prayer book) and started reading the service for Shacharit (morning prayer) and the Torah portion for the week.  However, I got sleepy about half way through the Torah portion, and had to have a nap.

I think I slept about a half hour when tap-tap on the door, and Sandra announced herself.  Very nice announcement, too, as she brought me food from the Kiddush at her synagogue.  Potato salad, cole slaw, quiche. and two slices of challah. She said the fruit salad went like swish! So she wasn't able to bring any of that. Her visit was well-time because I was hungry.  I didn't get any cholent from my own synagogue because Joan is laid up, and she's the only one who thinks about it. Ah well. One of these weeks I'll be able to get to shul by myself, and I'll enjoy cholent there.

I think about food a lot. I'm still losing weight, though. My thyroid medication has been reduced, so maybe the end of the weight loss is about to arrive. I'm not where I want to be, but getting close. I can see where I've lost weight, but this bloated belly makes me look still fat. Nothing I can do about it until the colostomy is reversed and the incision(s) completely healed.

And thinking about food. . . I'm going to take half of an H&D pear and half of a red Delicious apple and make a compote. If I did the whole fruits, it would be 3 or 4 compotes. And thinking of food, I'm hungry again. It's been several hours since Sandra brought the food, so I think it's time to feed the tummy again.

I'm in my jammies now. Getting sleepy again, but 8pm is a little too early to go to bed. Nothing on TV tonight, so I guess I'll read a bit. That's guaranteed to put me to sleep, so maybe I can find something on TV for another hour or so.

Yes, it's been a Very Good Day.

Bless

Mazal Tov on your Very Good Day!

It WAS cold out there today. We took the dogs a walk and my face was frozen by the time we got back!

Hope you continue to go from strength to strength...
