Of all the praises I've sung about this little community, I think the one that I admire most is the civic pride. After last night's shindig in the park, I expected to see cups and napkins and other detritus all over the park.
Nope.
Not exactly slick as a whistle, but as close as makes no nevermind. Today, one could not tell that there were a few hundred people, including children, fire trucks, boats, bar-b-cue equipment and I don't know what-all were there last evening.
Can we say Yacolt Has Pride?
There's not a park in Sacramento that is as clean and well-maintained as the little park here in Yacolt. Even in my neighborhood, which is on the edge of up-scale, the nearby Howe Ave. Park isn't all that neat and clean. Yes but, you might argue, a whole lot more people use Howe Park. Well, maybe so. But shouldn't they be all the more careful about leaving trash around?
I have lots of pictures I hope to share with you. I need to use the disc that came with my camera to help me get the pictures on the computer, and then sort them. Then figure out how to get them to DD.
I don't know how I'm going to do it, if by myself or with ten families, but I'm pretty sure this little town will be my home. Eventually.
Well, time will tell.
Bless
