why do i want to move out of the USA?
this is not the kind of country I want to retire in. this country is not kind to its elderly, disabled, and especially to women. it never really has been. the healthcare system is garbage - for patients and those in the healthcare field…. it’s not the doctors or nurses…it is the insurance companies. it is the majority of CEOs who are only concerned with the bottom line (which is not you or me).
America began as a great idea until we decided to enslave brown people, treat them and women as second class citizens, and blend in white christian religion into legislature. we are a country rooted in systemic racism and misogyny. we exclude black history from school books, we bury all the wonderful accomplishments black men and women contributed to the building and advancing of this country culturally, scientifically, medically, etc etc.
riddle me this: “it’s up to the parent/ people to decide what they want to do with their bodies regarding vaccinations” vs. “we will overturn Roe vs. Wade because you (women) can not choose what to do with your body or have access to reproductive healthcare"
how hypocritical can these religious right maniacs get?
we are a country that is filled with people that want to force women to have babies, but are hell bent on screaming about 2nd amendment rights that end up shooting up schools where those babies may be.
tell me. is this rational thinking? is it okay for these people to be running our government? making laws?
tell me. how folks so hell bent on being pro-life - do not flinch at a government and society as a whole that is chock full of pedophiles?
power. it is all about power - over women, over brown people, folks who speak more than one language.
white america is scared to be the minority. but it is happening whether you want it to or not.
shackling children to cart off to venezuela - (which is really human trafficking) like what the fuck is this government doing?
i love the land, the parks, the many beautiful landscapes of this country. i’ve traveled across country, camped, seen many beautiful scenes. but i can not stomach some of its people. i can not reconcile the crazy healthcare and educational systems, the pushback on science and medicine, and i can not, in good conscience, put up with religion regulating what i can do with my body.
i live in a blue state and this week it joined other northeast states in allowing people to be vaccinated without restrictions - contrary to what florida is doing.
- everyone should have access to higher learning
- everyone should have access to good healthcare that doesn’t bankrupt them
- everyone should have adequate food and shelter
- everyone should be able to practice whatever religion they choose or not
- everyone should be able to love whomever they choose.
- women should be running everything on earth.
this is why i want to leave the usa. this country needs a serious overhaul. it needs term limits, needs to remove big $$ out of politics and breakup this fucked up romance with israel.
