under blue moon i saw you...
i'm the neon. the 24/7...sleepy and wired up caffeine-like. the morning drags the sun up and over pointy tops...the evening makes way for moongirl, teetering on stillettos, red-lipped and cold...
and there are no windows to notice this. just the low hum droning of synthetic lights overhead and the wall clock standing as proof that it's all occurred.
i break out, bleary-eyed and drunk with tired, to fresh morning faces and swept city streets. i nod out, in the overstuffed car, head-bobbing the long subway ride to home. i'm one moving against the overwhelming tide of bodies through turnstiles, towards EXIT, to a cold car, aching heels, and mug of coffee i've been nursing 15 hours.
it's 2:25 am, midday for me...
