i had just been thinking...
Mon Jul 20 2009

actually, hoping that Frank McCourt would write another book. i had read all that he had written (Teacher Man, 'Tis, and Angela's Ashes) in that order! and hadn't laughed so much reading any book...especially Teacher Man.

reading the Daily News online, i find an article stating that Mr. McCourt had passed away yesterday.

sad news. i loved his writing, his storytelling...so so funny and honest. it would have been awesome to have had him as a teacher.
rest in peace Mr. McCourt

so the month of july has basically been a bust for me. i've been sick and/or rundown for weeks now. today...well...today i will attempt a visit to the gym. we'll see how that goes. last night until the wee hours of the morning, i spent cleaning my apartment...much overdue. had plans today but felt rundown and tired. going to bed at 4am only to wake with the alarm at 5:30am is just plain stupid. plans to drive about 100 miles even more stupid...so i just canned the plans. maybe they'll happen tomorrow, maybe not.
~~~
family reunion was bittersweet. i'll say no more.
~~~
still no tv. but i'm actually able to catch episodes of True Blood online, NO EASY FEAT! so many links (just do a google search and you'll see) that go to bogus sites with tons of pop-ups and dumbass surveys or software downloads... found a site that has a link to a player and just plays the dang episode without asking you to do ANYTHING.
~~~
would love to catch the new Harry Potter movie. we'll see.
~~~
currently reading, The Yankee Years
may re-read Teacher Man
may take a nap.

ciao!

    I love Frank McCourt's books too! And I hadn't heard that he had died. Sad news indeed.
