and when the clowns come in...
Fri Nov 05 2010

all you can do is just laugh. and laugh i did...well...more like giggle.

went to the gym last night, day 2 since i stopped all healthful activity (running and going to the gym) and i'm sore. while there, i watched a program about SNL. so there i am, on the eliptical trainer, chugging away and giggling at the antics of Adam Sandler and Chris Farley...then the famous Chippendale skit comes on with Farley and Patrick Swayze competing for a spot on the famed dance group. what a funny clip. classic. and it felt good to laugh.
~~~
mr. tuxedo cat (Vincenzo) has peed on my bed again. color me pissed(!) and desperate to find a solution.
so, this month will be a serious driving month...i'll be picking up my sis from the airport next week, my brother and nephew the week after and dropping my car off at my other bro's house for him to fix next week. i'll have to take public transportation back home (NOT looking forward to this) and i'll have to take pub trans back to pick up my car the following day. it sucked that i got into an accident. but it kind of rocks that my bro does body work and paint jobs (he is extremely talented...you should have seen the paint job on his 1980 corvette)...he can fix and paint ANYTHING and has been doing it for over...dare i say...25 years?
~~~
it's been lousy weather-wise. rainy and cold. but the heat is on and the hot water hasn't crapped out so i'm extremely grateful. it's feeling kind of homey in here right now...the heat is on but it's rainy and gray outside, just finished making cream of wheat and i'm still in my jammies and i'm listening to the Boxer (the National)... i'm in my own private little idaho.

currently listening to:
Boxer - the National
Evil Urges - My Morning Jacket

dvds watched:
Fourth Kind - freakin' creepy. Milla Jovovich is gorgeous
Clash of the Titans - where can i get a Kraken?
next:
3:10 to Yuma
State of Play (because i'm a little smitten with Russell Crowe)

currently reading: (Wrenchman if you're reading this...you might like this one)
Epitaph Road by David Patneaude --- which is about a world run by women after a bizarre virus/disease kills off most the world's male population.

so, when the sole purpose of winning seats in the house and senate is to prevent the current president from winning a second term, i have to wonder how what i need as a US citizen matters to these newly elected folks? they've already discarded me for their "agenda".

politics as usual.

ho-hum.

venom radio, venom television
i'm afraid of everyone
i'm afraid of everyone

lay the young blue body, with the old red body
i'm afraid of everyone
i'm afraid of everyone

with my kid on my shoulders i try
not to hurt anybody i like
but i don't have the drugs to sort it out.
your voice is swallowing my soul

Afraid of Everyone by The National (High Violet album)

    You know cats, so I know you've done all the usual stuff like making sure the litter boxes are in the right place and cleaning with an enzmatic detergent to wash anything urine stained. If you think there is any chance he's doing it because of stress, try getting a Feliway Comfort Zone plug in for the apartment. We've had some good luck with new adoptors who need to deal with new stressed cat syndrome. If you can't keep Mr. Tuxedo out of the bedroom when you aren't home, then get some cheap rolls of aluminum foil and cover the top of the bed with it. It should disuade Mr. P from doing any further damage.

    You sure there's no chance of a UTI?
