and i'm outta here. had a nap for my lunch today. i'm tired. i've submitted my request for time off so i'm going home next week for thanksgiving. will steer clear of the port authority on the way there, but on my way back, i just may take a trip way downtown to throw some good vibes, a few tears, hug a stranger, and ride the mechanical underground bull...

i'm grateful that i have a job. but it sucks to deal with meaningless crap. silly long strings of holdings, years and volumes, years and volumes. lord, were they ever wrong about the paperless office, the virtual library. poor trees. poor species living in trees...we're pretty damned good at making all the fun stuff extinct. how 'bout giving cancer and aids a shot?

I hear you, but there's still something that borders on the religious to me when I'm surrounded by books. Especially older ones, pre-computer. A good book full of solid facts or a good story is gold. Even newspapers - where else do you get so much to read, so much information, so much food for thought for just 50 cents (give or take, depending on city and publisher).

What makes me cringe is to pass through the romance aisle, and know that a tree gave it's life for *that*. (Grin)

Glad you're getting the time off to head home. Sometimes there's nothing more comforting than that.

this is only 1 medical college...keep this in mind when i say that one of our copiers has made more than 1 million copies....

paper that some lazy hands can't even manage to put in the blue waste baskets...

i love books and newspapers too, but do we really need the enquirer? or the star? (although, i used to love the section "would you be caught dead wearing this...") ;-) badfranny!!!
