my favorite number.
~~~
just got news that the petsitting service i use will be closed for vacation the first week in november. not great news considering that's basically marathon time for me, i've got to leave a few days earlier to pick up my race bib at the health expo.
so it goes, eh Kurt?!
i've been surfing the web for sitters. apparently my neighborhood isn't a popular one. another freakin' reason to move.
called one sitter up who advertised that they gave meds. when i spoke to the woman i mentioned my special needs kitty (bad ticker orangehead)and how she requires meds (in the form of tablets), to which this stunod says...well, cats are difficult to pill and so we usually crush the meds and put it in the food.
1. this is NOT an option because how can you be sure the cat eats the food and gets the required dose
2. how can you be sure that other pets in the household don't eat the medicated food?
3. this lady needs to stop advertising her ability to administer meds or invest in a piller.
my orangehead is a real peach to pill. she's generally got a really friendly demeanor. loves attention and people. but this lady had already labeled her as trouble. needless to say, the phone call was short. i suspect, though, that my location was undesirable to her prompting her to get off the phone as soon as possible.
no skin off my nose. i want someone who can do the job and do it well and be nice to my cats and not steal my stuff.
i called another petsitter. they're located not too far from me! hopefully, i'll speak with the other partner tonight and set up a meeting. the woman i spoke with on the phone said that they'd love to get more business around where i'm at. heck, if it works out and they turn out great...i'll spread the word. there are a few pet owners living in my apartment building.
if it doesn't work out, i've got to do the unthinkable...put them in kitty hospital jail. :-(
calicohead will NOT like this idea at all.
orangehead is a schmoozer. if she could talk, she'd be able to give me lessons on office politics! the hospital staff like my kitties. i'm sure they'd spoiled them. of course, i wouldn't have to worry about meds or anything like that. those women know their stuff.
in other news...i am tired and sore. i've been icing both my knees and my right foot. i'll jump on the spinning bike this afternoon in place of the 4 miler i've got to do today. my joints need a break.
~~~
work? i thought i'd get some resolution but it was all a deceit. they said one thing and then attended to something else. end of story. that they actually sat there and went through this ridiculous schpiel on how they were trying to help me...well, a person can handle so much crap before they have to exit the room to vomit. doublespeak, George!, it was all doubletalk.
not sure what the plan is, except that i can't let this junk interfere with my training schedule. this stress is mentally draining.
mostly, i'm just sad at how easy it is for people to lie.
that should be a tough thing for anyone to do.
i've got to shake this feeling. it's sucking the life out of me. unfortunately, my soundboard couldn't meet this week. next week, i'll get to spill my guts and hopefully, put some of this burden on shoulders that know how to handle it...just until they help me get the tools to handle it on my own.

in the meantime, that vanilla fudge icecream is not doing such a bad job.

ciao&meow.
and throw me some sunshine, i've been in the rain too long.
