Almost...

...time to have to pack up and head back to the states. Barcelona was wonderful, weather was gorgeous... Ran myself into the ground on the second day there. Walked 20 miles. Absolutely loved walking through the gothic quarter and the cathedral was stunning. Very excited to visit the Picasso museum as well. Renting a studio via air bnb was the best. Here in Madrid, I'm at a hostel that is nice but a little too noisy (outside). I knew it'd be noisy but not this bad, though, I am very close to puerta del sol, touristy and at times obscene! The Prado, Thyssen, and Reina Sofia, were worth every euro. How much Goya could I stand? Not enough. :-). Took side trips to Figueres and Cadaques. Montserrat... Left me speechless as did the very steep ride on the funicular. The rainstorm at the top was the perfect ending to my hikes up there. Today I head to Avila and tomorrow I head to el Escorial and then it's back to NYC, the cats (who I miss) and work (don't miss).
Adios!
