incubus (a damned good band)
i'm getting good at ignoring sneaky requests. if you want me to do something for you...something i'm not required to do, have the balls to just ask. i will not volunteer. don't expect me to. i've spent most of my life getting myself in knee deep in other people's responsibilities...
you'd think a professional would have a little bit more motivation in making sure their thesis/dissertation..etc, etc...was put together correctly with all of the necessary info... it sure the hell isn't my responsibility. of course, the respective dept. is NO help. they keep referring these professionals to our dept. plus they owe us cash! for sending things and paying the bill...

need i say it's a freakin' Martini Friday?

i keep getting interrupted, have limited time to work today because it's an early dismissal and i've got stuff that Needs to be ready to go on monday, i refuse to come in on the weekend. that's my time and after a week like this week, i need the time off to just vegetate. i could do with a being unconscious for the entire time or at least a little bit intoxicated...

yesterday, i bought a pair of brown clogs. i needed something comfortable that i could wear in fall and summer/spring...with dresses, skirts, and pants. once i got home, i put them on and ms. orangehead tried in vain to fit her little chubby self in the box. i've got a picture of her sitting in it (all she could manage to do). too darned cute. and what ambition... my cats teach me great lessons. i want to be alone...they sit on my chest and legs...i want to slack off...they let me know they want dinner now, meds now, attention now. i feel alone...and they bring laughter to me by knocking the toy mice around. i love those cats...

yesterday, the Dukes of Hazzard paid our block a visit... they came speeding down our street (a slight hill with a curve...deadly combo)which was slick due to light rain. so, franny is sitting in her livingroom watching ER and she hears a skidding and sees colored lights bouncing off her walls and then hears a crash. a few seconds later, she peeps outside and sees a police car in the process of doing a 360 and a van backing into a building. franny hears the voice of a lady screaming...franny runs to her bedroom, whips her pajama pants off, whips the sweats on, grabs the phone and runs outside...
2 policewomen were speeding down our street, the car slid (they probably hit the brakes) went into a spin, hit a tree and was hit on the driver's side by an oncoming van driven by a woman with a child in the passenger seat.
all hell broke loose. they closed the entire street, firemen showed up, EMS showed up and about 5 police cars...
needless to say, homeless man didn't show up...
;-) but that's another story.
the two cops were taken by stretcher. both had to be removed through the passenger side.
another day in philly.
did i say it's a Martini Friday???
throw in a few jellybeans too.
;-)
