Monday was supposed to be the day. But I couldn't do it. she was eating, jumping on and off the couch, wanting me to brush her... so, Tuesday - took her to the dvm and the rechecked bloodwork - she's still anemic. decided to send me as a referral to get another ultrasound. sent me home with antiemetics. weds - got up and out early and drove her to the specialty hospital. Left her there for an ultrasound with fine needle aspirates of the liver and spleen and serum electrophoresis and picked her up after work. She was diagnose fri as multiple myeloma. They recommended a consult with oncology which was today. I was okay with doing chemo. The bloodwork usually done before chemo showed a packed cell volume of 17% (normal is 30 -45) so she got chemo and a transfusion. she got IV meds for nausea. I came home with steroids and antiemetics (all pill form). I'm tired. but I will keep going as long as I can and until she tells me to stop.
