no sleep
no decent sustenance
and one short 5k through the streets downtown...through wall st and past the stuffed shirts, classic black pumps heeled girls, the meager few left after the financial bomb...

we run. because we can. it's not about the heart, the lungs, the kidneys, cancer...it's about the just running.

so, after a 8 hour turned 14 hour overnight shift. after having to move the car for alternate parking, driving back to manhattan to pick up the race bib, hitting a parked car with my back bumper, driving half asleep back to brooklyn, to park 8 blocks away from the apt... going to sleep at 1:30 to get up at 4:30, heading downtown to congregate with the masses, lacing up sneaks, zipping up zippers, plugging in the iPod...

we run
i run.

because i can.
