To suggest any person, whether man or woman, should acquire a dog to increase their chances of finding a mate is irresponsible and just plain idiotic. The article written by Dr. Dawn Ruben entitled "Top Dogs to Impress a Man" is a disservice to the many breeds that are ultimately abandoned by owners who realize they bit off more than they can chew, and also to all of the mixed breeds sitting in shelters because they are not "impressive". Please be a little more careful with your suggestions. Animals are not accessories, they are living creatures that need care and love.
