chasing rain
Fri Jan 11 2002

early morning rain when it's still dark out and the headlights from the morning commuters reflects off the black...i'm walking with my loveumbrella...through muddy puddles wearing clogs and socks with one little peep-hole, say hello little piggy, it's okay today...

little blue angel bag carrying my salvation, my remedy to the table filled with happy brownies, they shimmy for my dollar...bye-bye George...new sneakers right spooning with the left and the bit of caked mud hugging underneath...last night's run, through the dark, in the rain, past the workmen in their yellow trenches, past the protruding concrete lip where you stubbed your little piggy, say hello, it's okay today...

tracking the little bit of leftover drug is like chasing the rain, i run and run and end up at the beginning. i want to say. i want to know. i want to wish. but it's easier standing still and letting the drops leave their marks on my face...
