Know anyone from New Haven, CT??? That appears to be where the majority of the hits are coming from. You can trace them yourself using http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?Getlocation

Nope - I'm definitely getting NO bots. I've no idea why your diary should be hit so hard. Are you getting a lot of google or other search engine hits (people hitting your site because of a search they've run)? That could theoretically increase bot hits, since the search engines track where people are going and program their bots to review those sites more often. Other than that, I don't even have a good guess.

there was one diarist i knew who was from Conn. but i don't know anyone else... not alot of google searches. even if i do trace the IP, what would i be able to do? my sitemeter doesn't have any of the bot hits listed which i find odd. i do get some hits listed from unknown but i can't figure out why i'm getting pummeled with these hits. it's nothing that i've ever had to deal with before and i've been writing on this site since 1999. (wow, that's 10 years...) wow.
