for the fishes.
it's been pouring rain since i woke up this morning. i don't mind, it's monday and i have to work. and after a gorgeous weekend like we just had, the rain is a nice little change of pace. of course, it's supposed to last the entire week, i think...so...we'll see how quickly my attitude changes...

not much to say today. did get some new sneaks (what a difference!). soaked my feet in the ole Dr. Scholl's foot massager. can you hear me saying, ahhhh...?!
need to get some epsom salt though. slept alot this weekend. got up at about 12pm on sunday. fit a good short run in the evening when it was a little cooler and more breezy. it was a beautiful night. so, total mileage for this past week?
24.76 miles. (sunday - saturday)
not bad.

watched some of the track/field and swimming Olympic trials. manoman, that 100m race was spectacular. all finished in about 10 seconds. it was an amazing and close race. too bad about the doping scandal though...have to wonder how it'll affect some of the atheletes who made it onto the olympic team...
the swimming was pretty awesome too.
i've always loved to watch the olympics (summer moreso than winter) but i do love to watch speedskating and the skiing events. but gymnastics and track/field are my favorites. the opening and closing ceremonies are also pretty wonderful to watch.

i'm not too pleased that Greece "got rid" of thousands of stray dogs. dammit people, spay and neuter, spay & neuter!!!!!!

i have to get my eating under control. i'm going totally food crazy, especially when it comes to bread. (I LOVE BREAD!)

so, i head to the gym this afternoon for some weight training and 30 minutes of hills on the spinning bike. :-) then later tonight, i'll have an entire pint of Ben&Jerry's chunky monkey! (i highly recommend it to those who haven't tasted it) hehehehe ;-P
~~~
he'll probably never read this so i send it out to the universe in hopes it'll find the right place to land...
a speedy and thorough recovery to Mr. David Bowie. your music, dear man, kept me around a lot longer than i had anticipated. you were/are far too interesting to miss out on. :-) your songs make up most of the soundtrack of my youth. the people who don't get you, label you weird. take that as a compliment because you've dodged the mediocre...
    I think I "get" Bowie (at least, some of him) but I still think he's "weird". Then again, most of my favorite artists are.
