the power of a pint of Chunky Monkey (that's banana ice cream with walnuts and chocolate chunks).

yesterday after work, i went running after ordering a large cheese pizza with spinach. that would be dinner. on my way home, i had picked up some essentials and a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chunkey Monkey, which, i guess you could also call an essential. picked up 99 cent powerbars!!! (they never cost that little and it's the only thing i can stomach on my long runs). i headed out wearing bright purple leggings, my under armour heatgear tee and a sweat shirt (which i didn't need because it was humid as hell and warm). required mileage for yesterday was only 5 miles but it was raining, the traffic was horrendous (i lose alot of time waiting for lights to change and for cars to let me have the right of way) and i was feeling kind of tired and dehydrated (let's just say that after ingesting my lunch...the transit time was very very short)so...i cut it down to a 4 miler and hopped onto the rowing machine when i got home and rowed for about another 10 minutes using the same exertion i would running a mile. stretched and ate dinner, iced my knees and right foot and watched the boob tube for a while. took a short shower, i sweat an awful lot so much so that you can see the salt stains on my running gear...and iced my knees and foot again.
~~~
woke up today, iced my knees and foot and dammit if i don't feel pretty damned good. today, i feel like i'm really physically fit. haven't felt like this in a while. usually i wake up and walk around like i'm 80...
who knows. maybe it's the cross training or having green tea instead of coffee in the morning...maybe it's that flushing out i went through yesterday or icing my knees and foot in the morning (something i haven't done until today)...not sure, but i'll try to keep this system going.
work kind of still sucks.
~~~
but i feel really good today.
